Position: Financial Analyst
Location: Rosemead, CA 91770 (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 06 months
Pay rate: $30.00/hr - $39.00/hr on W2
M-F 8:30-5:30. M/Thurs/F remote; Tues/W office.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload:
- Lead and assist in the coordination, planning, and development of the EIX corporate entity monthly liquidity forecasting process.
- Prepare and collaborate in the development of presentation materials for senior management, the EIX Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
- Evaluate historical and project consolidated financial results of the corporate entity and its subsidiaries.
- Prepare variance analyses across EIX and its subsidiaries, understanding and monitoring key earnings drivers, and working with counterparts to understand root causation of variances.
- Collaborate across multiple departments within EIX and its subsidiaries to maintain and improve financial models.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analyses including the development of financial models and present key findings.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support ongoing business activities and potential strategic transactions applying critical thinking, problem solving skills, and financial analysis knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field or a combination of training, education and experience.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ, and/or other valuation tools.
- Demonstrated professional experience utilizing financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts to craft, analyze, and draw conclusions from business data.
- Desire to learn how to use new tools, techniques, and skills.
- Proven time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects and adapt to high paced working environment.
- Demonstrated experience performing ad-hoc analysis, including identifying client needs, gather relevant information from appropriate stakeholders, analyze, prioritize, and presenting.
- Discretion in handling sensitive Company, department, and individual performance information.
- 5-8 years experience in financial planning and analysis required.
- Working knowledge of financial procedures, techniques and demonstrated analytic capability.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost rates establishment, business case development and variance analysis.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet modeling required.
- Completion and/or in pursuit of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program exam I, II or III, AFP FP&A Certification, or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
