Position Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Financial Aid Counselor/Sr. Financial Aid Counselor, where you'll play a crucial role in providing outstanding customer service and guidance to our students and their families throughout the Financial Aid application process. Your responsibilities will include determining eligibility within institutional, state, and federal requirements, representing the Financial Aid office at various events, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of funds.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive advising to prospective, new, and current students and their families on available Financial Aid types, scholarships, and eligibility criteria.
- Independently manage operational details of the Financial Aid process, including reviewing applications and supporting documentation, and reconciling funds with a high degree of accuracy.
- Serve as a Financial Aid representation at various events such as orientations, FAFSA completion nights, and new student admitted days.
- Stay current on federal and state regulations through participation in professional development activities.
- Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director/Senior Director of Financial Aid.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a higher education setting, preferably in Financial Aid, admissions, or enrollment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in financial documents and computer skills, including Colleague, NSLDS, COD, CPS, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret complex Financial Aid regulations and apply them appropriately.
- Comfortable with public speaking and working with diverse families.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Some evenings and weekend work required.

Job Summary:
Join our team as an Assistant Director of Financial Aid, where you'll provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office, with a focus on non-traditional and graduate student populations. This role emphasizes compliance, efficient use of technology, communications, and customer service. Additionally, you'll manage the office in the Director's absence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead Financial Aid administrator in the absence of the Director.
- Process all Professional Judgment requests and assist with student requests when necessary, including obtaining appropriate documentation and communicating with all parties involved.
- Manage Financial Aid processes for specific student populations, including nursing students, graduate students, and others.
- Assist with audits, program reviews, and other required disclosures.
- Determine Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements for graduate and non-traditional undergraduate students.
- Handle Return of Title IV calculations for students who withdraw from the institution.
- Collaborate with university departments to ensure compliance with academic calendars and institutional policies.
- Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Financial Aid experience with demonstrated increased responsibility.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Financial Aid operation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Some evening and weekend work required.
