Position Summary
The Financial Administrative Assistant shall adhere to the By-Laws of Mills Capel Baptist Church, Inc., a non-profit Georgia corporation, under the general guidance and supervision of the Church Administrator and Finance Chairman. The Financial Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for all accounting functions and ensures the accurate posting and reconciliation of contributions and expenses, including accurate periodic reporting. Additional corporate/business administrative functions are also required.
Hours
Monday-Wednesday, 9:00am – 2:00pm
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately record all donations to various funds. Record, maintain and report financial information related to the budget. Maintain the General Ledger.
- Processing accounts payable, to include, securing authorization for expenses, accurately logging those expenses to the appropriate account and processing checks.
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
- Process payroll through outside vendor ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain and update employee records with payroll company, and work with vendor to resolve issues.
- Manage all bank deposits and reconciliations.
- Prepare, mail, and follow up on member contribution statements and year end charitable contribution statements.
- Prepare regular financial reports to the Church Administrator and Finance Chair, including support of the annual budget process.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports on stewardship as requested.
- Assembles and enters information into various automated programs.
- Examines current procedures and practices and recommends or implements changes.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- General organization and housekeeping duties of administrative spaces.
- Performs other corporate/business duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required. Associate degree or higher preferred.
- 5+ years related experience in accounting or finance, or equivalent.
- Current knowledge of general accounting principles and electronic accounting management systems. Proficiency in QuickBooks required.
- Experience in a church or non-profit environment is desired.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
- Experience in church business applications preferred.
- Experience in Payroll highly desired.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
