Overview:
The Insurance Verification Representative is responsible for all registration and financially related data collection prior to a patient arriving at the facility or after arrival at the facility depending on your role in the department. Maintains a thorough knowledge of all insurance requirements to ensure precertification, referral & authorization is obtained from contracted payers.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience:- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- 1 year experience in customer service preferred
- Patient Access experience preferred
- Other Requirements:
- Must possess skills in basic computer knowledge
- Must be able to perform routine clerical tasks, copiers, scanners etc
- Must be able to accurately type 30 WPM
- Must be able to work calmly & effectively in a fast paced, hectic & at times hostile environment
- Must be able to prioritize tasks & responsibilities
- Must have personal integrity and the ability to function effectively as a team
