Finance Specialist
The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world seeks an experienced Finance Specialist for the Delta Master Executive Council (MEC) Office in Atlanta, representing over 15,000 pilots flying for Delta. The Finance Specialistprovides support to the Master Executive Council (MEC) Administration and MEC Office Supervisor. They will regularly interact with member pilots, officers, ALPA staff members, and committee members, as well as vendors and consultants, to independently resolve issues and provide information to the MEC officers and the Finance department as it relates to the expenses of the MEC. They interact with airline contacts and other members of the MEC staff and Finance Department to resolve procedural and technical problems involving financial transactions. They are responsible for research projects pertaining to the Delta MEC Finance Department that have been directed by the Delta MEC Treasurer. Regular communication with the Delta MEC Treasurer is a must for success in this position.
Travel: 5 – 10%.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, e.g., accounting, business, or finance, from an accredited college or university preferred; or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years prior or related experience with AP, AR, and/or billing systems required, four (4) or more years preferred.
- ALPA experience and/or public accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Delta corporate practices preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written, required.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external contacts.
- Software: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficient; intermediate knowledge of MEC PRISM.

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the office and travel (locally, nationally, and internationally). Also includes occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and/or pushing and pulling or moving, e.g., to pack, unpack, and/or move cases.
Occasionally required to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, books, boxes, and files up to ten (10) pounds (lbs.). While on travel, could be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve luggage weighing as much as 50 lbs. (Assistance may not always be available.)
