Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the design, roll-out and governance of financial solutions, including:
- Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations
- Develop QA controls and manage handshake controls across multiple lines of business
- Develop QA Audit Readiness protocols and ensure compliance
- Work with partner controls teams to keep the audit universe defined and ready
- Manage all control work across QA including CAPs, MRIA, MRAs etc.
- Assists in setting business and information architecture standards for Finance
- Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes
- Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications
- Full management responsibility of multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning.
- Responsible for determining approach to implementing functional strategy and execution in area managed.
- Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses.
- Implements financial initiatives and manages the work of the department ensuring appropriate staffing and organizational structures are in place for their area.
- Partners with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and / or control.
- Often requires development of new concepts and approaches to solving issues affecting business/ geographic region or a major segment of it.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry required
- In depth knowledge of banking products/systems and how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function.
- Requires thorough knowledge of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas.
- Extensive knowledge of the industry, direct competitors products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial goals of the business.
- Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
- Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.
- Frequently involved with a variety of broad based and complex issues requiring conceptual thinking.
Education:
- Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or other business related field of study
- Master degree preferred
