Finance Manager

So, what will you be doing?
In this role, you will have responsibility for providing accounting knowledge and insight across technical, consolidation and project based workstreams within North America. You would be partnering with the Operations leadership team, and help challenge and deliver the objectives of the operations team, whilst ensuring the financial robustness of reporting and analysis of actual performance
The role will report to the Financial Controller
Key Responsibilities
- Manage completion of month-end close procedures for operating entities
- Manage completion of month end analysis and account reconciliations
- Support process improvements, ensuring a strong financial control environment is in place.
- Manage the delivery of robust and timely internal financial reporting
- Partner with the Operations leadership team to provide analysis of actual performance.
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures and monitor processes.
- Provide finance team with leadership and expertise in areas of technical complexity
- Remaining technically up to date and considering the impact of new or revised accounting pronouncements
- Actively contribute suggestions to ensure the successful delivery of Business Plan objectives.
- Constructively challenge the decisions being made to ensure value for Drax is maximised.
Candidate requirements
- Qualified accountant (CPA preferred) (5+years) in a business environment or in practice.
- Experience of dealing with, and presenting to, senior stakeholders.
- Experience in managing and developing a small team.
- High level of personal integrity and professionalism. Leads by example as well as an excellent team player.
- Highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic, a self-starter that can energise others.
- Excellent networking and communication skills - the drive to get out into the wider business and engage with non-Finance personnel.
- Highly numerate with strong analytical skills; able to build and interrogate complex financial models and reports.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and integrity of calculations and analysis.
- Ability to meet demanding deadlines, work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience of implementation and improvement of Finance systems and processes
Special Features:
- Location will be a hybrid approach, with expectation to work out of the local office as requested by Financial Controller or Director Finance and Accounting
- Minimal travel required as agreed upon with direct supervisor
