Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- May assist with General Ledger account analysis and reconciliation, audit preparation, preparing and recording journal entries, trade accounting, and month end closings
- Performs various clerical accounting and accounts payable tasks according to standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for identifying opportunities to improve company processes, information, and business results through documentation and reperformance of key business functions.
- Execute the timely preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts for monthly close.
- Review banking records and apply the reported cash activity to the appropriate corporate financial records.
- Assigned standard projects and may assist with complex projects. Implements projects with regular guidance.
- Actively supports strategic planning, and analytics for critical departments at NESN.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business information and user needs.
- Make recommendations for systems solutions and leads the efforts to document requirements.
- Ensure expenses are properly recorded and work with business partners to understand significant variances between forecast and actual results.
- Strong interest in television production and digital industry; ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Completing a BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- 0-2 years of experience from a previous internship, coursework, or through a student organization.
- Experience with developing models in Excel with some analytical and modeling skills.
- Strong communication skills – both oral and written.
- Ability to identify specific risks and opportunities and take action to make improvements within the organization
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong analytical, financial, communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and leadership skills are required.
- Ability to research problems independently and propose business solutions.
- Knowledge of Broadcast Media industry’s concepts, practices, and procedures a plus.
