The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of a Part Time Intern in the Finance Department. This is a PART TIME, non-civil service position. Salary for this position will be $18.00 per hour D.O.E. This position will work around 20 hours per week, during normal office hours.
+ Nature of Work- This is clerical accounting and financial transactions work involving the preparation, maintenance and review of financial and/or related records and documents.
- Work is performed under the general supervision of the Comptroller.
+ Essential Functions of Work
- Processes accounts payable or accounts receivable invoices and receipts.
- Provides computer input for cash, receivable and payable functions.
- Makes journal entries, prepares disbursement vouchers, records accounts payable and receivable.
- Reviews purchase orders, claims and warrants
- Provides information to financial institutions, vendors and the general public, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Graduation from high school and one year of experience in bookkeeping or a field related to financial transactions.
- Must be bondable and insurable. Must possess a valid North Dakota driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping practices, techniques and terminology.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Considerable knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment.
+ Compensation
- Starting hourly wage of $18.00 per hour D.O.E
- This is a PART TIME, FLSA nonexempt, non-civil service position with no benefits provided.
