Reporting to the Head of Operations for Finance, the Financial Governance Lead is responsible for overseeing Finance’s Financial Governance and reporting. In addition, the individual and their team are responsible for business and expense management processes specific to the Finance COO function. This individual will work closely with SMEs and be supported with professionals as direct reports, who will lead the day-to-day execution of the program.
Responsibilities
- Own the Finance COO financials, including monthly reporting, outlook submissions and quarterly forecasts (QMMF and Plan)
- Manage the Finance COO team’s overall expense base, including headcount and 3rd party engagement. The team is responsible for the Finance COO workforce management tasks, working hand in hand with the Resource Management team
- Take the lead across the Finance COO team for the creation of key management reports, such as the Finance COO Quarterly Business Review
- Partner with the Finance LFO team and Finance disciplines to generate key reports for the Finance Function overall, such as the quarterly CEO Review. The team is responsible for providing the qualitative commentary for senior management in these reviews
- In addition to supporting the Finance COO organization, the team provides support to the following Finance disciplines: Strategy, Investor Relations, Finance Admin and Legacy Franchises)
- Engage in ad-hoc strategic projects within the Finance COO team, or the broader Finance organization
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
- Extensive experience in managing highly visible, complex initiatives and/or consulting experience; Capable of diving into details, while bringing a strategic ad big picture perspective
- Deep subject matter expertise in headcount management for financial services/banking
- Demonstrated skills in building and developing teams
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with and confidence in delivering presentations to clients and senior manager
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to mutli-task effectively in a high-volume environment
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and provide direction with judgement and authority to enable effective validation with senior stakeholders.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing
