Job description

The Director of Finance Business Support designs, develops, and deploys financial models, collaborates with business, function, and channel leaders to evaluate strategic partnerships, operational models, and cost optimization opportunities, and recommends interpreted analyses to senior leadership, including the Executive Team.  This position provides strategic, financial, and operational support for key business decisions, including an emphasis on optimizing contract negotiations and driving cost capture and/or generating incremental revenue.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop comprehensive financial models, including staffing models for Credit Union departments, for strategic decision making incorporating financial and operating data
  • Provide financial guidance and oversight on all RFP’s, including requesting and analyzing pricing from vendors, recommending pricing alternatives, completing ROI analyses, and participating in vendor pricing negotiations with VP, VMO
  • Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders in creating and designing comprehensive financial models/recommendations incorporating financial and operating data including new products/services, strategic business decisions, capital budgeting, lease versus buy evaluations
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop strategic and operational recommendations, for example with key strategic partners
  • Perform financial assessments for First Tech’s new and existing vendors and recommends financial viability
  • Collaborate with executive leadership in prospective business acquisition / divestiture opportunities including profitability analyses and pro-forma financial statements
  • Benchmark the Credit Union’s business, function, and channel activity aimed at recommending process improvements (efficiency and effectiveness)
  • Assist with financial planning (budgeting) processes including financial plans and forecasts
  • Support Finance functions and provides guidance to all employees on enhancing financial analyses and strengthening business partnerships

Experience and Education Requirement:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior financial, accounting, operational and/or strategic planning role for a mid to large size organization, in the financial services or high technology industries
  • Demonstrated command of financial modeling, financial statements, and financial planning
  • Ability to drive design, development, and deployment of enterprise-wide project strategies; must be able to understand business requirements and translate them into financial models
  • Strong analytical, financial and modeling skills with financial services industry acumen
  • Strong knowledge of financial metrics (e.g. net present value, return on investment, return on equity, return on assets)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial/accounting policies, internal controls, processes and procedures
  • Broad knowledge of, and practical experience with, financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and the laws and regulations that apply to credit unions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal/external partners and key stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver effective stakeholder presentations to both peer and executive level audiences
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated success collaborating with senior leaders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, probing to look beyond the obvious, using logic, creativity, and collaboration for the best solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and consensus building skills with the ability to build trust and foster a collaborative spirit
  • Ability to organize, analyze and interpret data to make recommendations compatible with the organization’s strategic goals
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Strong proficiency with financial planning, reporting, and accounting software, knowledge of Oracle Finance Cloud is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced knowledge of Excel required
  • Minimum Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent work experience
  • Certification/License: N/A

Location:   Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)

Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $138k - 148k annually + annual bonus
