Overview
Indagare is seeking a highly motivated, organized and proactive individual to join our Finance team. As the Finance Associate – Collections Specialist, you will be principally focused on supporting the accounts receivable function for the company, including collections and departmental relations around A/R. Generally, you will also provide cross-departmental support to general accounting functions, secondary to your primary role focused on effective A/R strategy.
You would be an ideal candidate for this position if you have a ''can-do'' attitude, possess strong organizational and communication skills and are highly detail-oriented. We are looking for someone who is truly excited to take ownership of the position.
This role is remote anywhere in the U.S.
What You'll Do:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accounts Receivable:
- Take primary lead for the accounts receivable collections process, including the process for tracking via Salesforce.
- Communicate between revenue generating departments and suppliers to ensure prompt and full collection of any outstanding payments.
- Reconcile all receipts, and provide analysis of any variation, as open receivables are collected.
- Coordinate with revenue generating departments on outstanding supplier communications around open accounts, including confirming form and timing of any expected or claimed payments.
- Assist in researching outstanding balances in coordination with Finance and revenue generating teams.
- Communicate payments terms and options to all Suppliers, consistent with established Finance policies and preferences.
- Ensure Salesforce is updated with proper accounting contacts from global suppliers.
- Work with Supplier Relations-related team members to systematize and standardize incoming payments from global partners.
- General Accounting:
- Support the month-end close process for A/R, including variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, all relevant supporting schedules.
- Assist in developing processes and workflows to improve existing processes and support growth.
- Manage ad hoc projects as assigned by senior staff of the Finance team.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Working knowledge of G/L including journal entries
- Understanding of accrual accounting
- Experience with corporate A/R functions and processes preferred
- Experience with collections and supplier relations preferred
- Familiarity with accounting software (experience with NetSuite, a plus)
- Experience with Salesforce a plus but not required
