We are seeking a Finance Specialist to join our team!
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the follow-up, billing, collections, resolution, and management of the accounts payable functions, interacting with hospital, county, fiscal intermediary, and contracted providers, as necessary.
- Organizes, files, and maintains records of all billings for fiscal, administrative, and financial needs.
- Follows up with County and/or Fiscal Intermediary requests and inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
- Responsible for filing corresponding claims and backup while serving as a liaison with providers to resolve issues related to payable processing.
- Prepares an Account Payable list of all outstanding charges for providers on a weekly basis so MBCHC remains compliant with the contractual agreement to pay providers within 45 days.
- Assisted in ensuring that the department goals and deadlines were met by accurately processing claims data on a timely basis.
- Responsible for claims entry, verification, and check requests.
- Prepares and verifies checks requests, checks invoices for accuracy following procedures, researches, verifies, and/or corrects errors as appropriate.
- Processes check run for insurance premiums, deductibles, and drug co-pays from batches received from the AICP (Aids Insurance Continuation Program) Coordinator.
- Understands and follows clinical and departmental policies and procedures.
- Processes deductible authorization requirements and monitors the maximum amount of assistance a client may receive annually.
- Assures effective, timely, and efficient billing in accordance with the program's guidelines. Assures County and Waiver invoices are processed on a timely basis.

MBCHC has two locations on Miami Beach and one in North Miami. Services provided include internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, HIV/AIDS services, dental, endocrinology, ophthalmology and optometry, psychiatry and behavioral health, podiatry, and geriatrics. All three locations have laboratory and pharmacy services. MBCHC pharmacies have 340B pricing. Free medication is available for patients through pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs for those who qualify. Free transportation and translation services are also available for those who need them. In addition, we offer assistance with case management such as enrollment in health insurance from the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”), enrollment in Medicare, and Healthy Start prenatal services.
