Seeking a Field Service Professional in Hawaii to troubleshoot and repair technology equipment, primarily on container handling equipment and gate controls. Responsibilities include maintaining client relationships, records, and traveling to customer sites for maintenance and repairs.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct 80% technical and 20% mechanical tasks.
- Perform outdoor troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on technology equipment deployed in seaports and on container handling equipment.
- Specialize in troubleshooting and repairing RFID, PLC, GPS, OCR, LPR Cameras, Gate Kiosk, VOIP, and application support.
- Handle network troubleshooting, including Wi-Fi connections, and utilize Fiber Optic testing tools.
- Install, replace, and clean OCR cameras using a man lift for Ship to Shore Cranes and Gate Portal structures.
- Provide training and technical knowledge on a full range of technology equipment.
- Monitor dashboard for performance and functionality.
- Assist Mi-Jack and Mi-Jack Suppliers Level II Support Technicians.
- Interpret schematics and demonstrate mechanical and electrical expertise.
- Evaluate and make repair recommendations, including Scheduled Maintenance, Inspections, and call-out repairs.
- Self-schedule and coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with on-site management.
- Document work order details daily and track issues/resolutions in the JIRA system.
- Manage spare parts inventory and RMA process.
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: High Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years' field service experience.
Desired: 2-year degree in electronics, computer science, or related field of study preferred. 5 + years of related experience with similar technology equipment/automation and port/intermodal equipment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and experience with JIRA
- Basic knowledge of AC, DC, and low voltage power, along with networking concepts.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Teamwork abilities, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in Rail and Port Automation systems preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), TWIC eligibility, and willingness to travel.
Physical and Environmental Elements:
This is a field service classification and employees work in a factory environment or in the field with exposure to noise and machinery and weather. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull; access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment Work involves considerable standing, walking, climbing, crawling, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, communicating, stooping, bending, or sitting for long periods of time. May lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds and have exposure to working at heights.
