Lead Technician I
General Information:
Title: Lead Technician I
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Location/Site: South Texas Area
Hours: 10 days-on/5 days-off hitch schedule for non-local employees, Monday – Friday, possible nights and weekends.
Pay: Bi-Weekly
Reports to: Director of Operations
Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Position Overview:
To be successful as a Lead Technician 1 (LT1), the individual must be reliable, detail-oriented, and must be able to function effectively both as a member of a rig-move team, and independently in the delivery of service, maintenance, and repairs. Work locations are remote, geographically dispersed, and fully exposed to all extremes of weather. LT1 will work directly and indirectly with a small crew, as a Lead Technician 1 Successful performance will require both physical and mental exertion & resilience. Maintenance issues that occur after-hours will be addressed in an on-call rotation basis. LT1 will frequently drive long distances and work with raw, untreated water or be exposed to wastewater (sewage). The successful LT1 must be able to accomplish these tasks without compromising the delivery of quality, safety, or customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver water purification and wastewater treatment trailers to remote customer sites.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs, verification of suitable source water, placement of plumbing from water source to treatment unit and water/sewer connections to onsite housing trailers.
- Monitor initial treated water quality and ongoing production of water using basic knowledge during startup.
- Provide knowledge and recommendations to customers for site layout of equipment up/down, proximity to powered connections, water sources as customer sites relocate.
- Verify various types of electrical connections, identify power voltages, appropriately select connections, including correct plug types depending on location.
- Communicate clearly & respectfully with both co-workers and customers.

Requirements:
- High School Grad; or GED
- Valid driver’s license and strong driving safety record (no more than 2 moving violations in previous 3 years).
- Acceptable background check, clear of DWI convictions, for the last 5 years.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration within and between department(s)
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-5 years of industry related experience in similar role(s)
- Ability to use basic hand/power tools for installation and maintenance purposes.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods, and to lift up to 45 lbs.
- High mechanical aptitude, ability to apply trouble-shooting techniques productively.
- Basic experience or familiarity with human machine interface HMI software; Supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA software
- Ability to access computer systems to determine required maintenance activities.
- General computer/cellphone navigation abilities, navigating on a computer, using a mouse, typing, changing screens, etc.
- Knowledge of the oilfield industry--expectations and environment.
- Experience with customer service, client communication, and technical environments.
- Basic knowledge of identifying powered connection, measuring voltage, testing power using a multimeter, and basic electrical connection work.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Lead Technician 1 may supervise up to five other Field Technicians.
- Requires the ability to affect behavior change in team-members by utilizing persuasive skills to influence people and/or direct authority.
- Gives instructions or orders to subordinate employees.
- Ensures employees that report to this role meet performance expectations and deadlines.
- Job skills development, cross-training, and knowledge sharing with subordinate employees.
