Job Description
Job Summary: The Field Service Representative, reporting to the Field Service Manager, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the assembly of company-renovated pumps at customer sites. This position requires approximately 40% travel to ensure the fulfillment of customer installation requirements. The representative serves as the primary customer contact, acts as a technical resource, and resolves inquiries to provide exemplary customer service. In addition to assembly duties, the role involves disassembling and reassembling pumps, serving as a lead on specific projects, and completing necessary paperwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary customer contact for overseeing the assembly of company-renovated pumps at customer sites.
- Travel to customer sites, constituting approximately 40% of work time.
- Disassemble and reassemble pumps as needed.
- Act as a technical resource to address and resolve customer inquiries and problems.
- Perform assembly activities as directed and complete special projects as assigned.
- Maintain and complete all required paperwork, final reports, records, etc.
- Follow safety and work regulations, including the use of required protective clothing and equipment.
- Work overtime on short notice as required.
Protective Clothing/Equipment Required: Safety glasses, shoes, and hearing protection as needed. Compliance with all PPE and customer safety requirements when working at their premises.
Supervisory Responsibilities: May lead specified projects, directing, observing, and training assigned personnel. Provide project status updates to Company management and customers. Escalate issues to management when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; one to three years of related experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Math Ability: Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to work with fractions and proportions.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various forms.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Inventory, Manufacturing, and Scheduling software.
- Certificates and Licenses: Successful completion of lift, crane, and OSHA training post-hire.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Operating standard business machines (computer, telephone, fax machine, photocopier).
- Operating a variety of small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, lift equipment, and cranes.
Work Environment: Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. Loud noise levels are typical.
Physical Demands: Regularly requires talking, hearing, walking, standing, and using hands. Occasional sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds.
