Field Service Technician: Job Description
We are looking for a world class Water Jet Service Technician to join our team. The Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction through installing and effectively troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures on Water Jet equipment. Must be able to read schematics and parts drawings, perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and be proficient with the use of other service devices (ex. multimeters). Must complete tasks in a timely manner and completely fill out reports. This person works directly with the Service Manager to execute work orders. Travel with this position is required.
Responsibilities
● Responsible for the installation and setup of Water Jet machines
● Work directly with our customers to repair, program, and troubleshoot their control systems, specifically Delta Tau, Fanuc and Siemens
● Calibrate, program, and troubleshoot machine controls
● Work closely with manufacturing and engineering to get machines up and running to capacity
● Communicate with managers to inform of situations that may impact production
● Compile records of equipment and machinery information used on customer site
● Assist in maintaining and monitoring inventory of spare parts for all machines to minimize downtime
● Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as needed
● Work on all pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic components on CNC machinery
● Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other business programs
Requirements
● Successful completion of a certification program at a Junior College or equivalent formal training in a related field.
● Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
● Strong electrical and hydraulic experience - Pneumatic experience is a plus
● Programming Logic Controllers (PLC), preferably Delta Tau, Fanuc, and Siemens is preferred.
● Experience with Renishaw laser scanner and ballbar system is preferred.
● Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
● Must be able to lift 20 pounds or more.
