Field Mechanic

Position Overview:

The Field Technician provides technical support to customers and engineers, on site or in the field, on a variety of technical tasks. Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of production, environmental and regulatory equipment used in the oil & gas industry to ensure safe operation and run time for the rental fleet and/or customer- owned units.

Essential Job Functions:

· Maintenance and repair of:

o Instrumentation and electrical components (VFD, PLC, our proprietary controller, etc.)

o Reciprocating, flooded screw and vane compressors

o Natural gas engines and electric motors

o Compressor drive systems, couplings, belts, clutches, etc.

· Installation and startup of new, upgraded, and repaired equipment.

· Understanding of AC & DC voltage systems up to 480v AC

· Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment on-site and in the field, including instrumentation, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.

· Understands and interprets general electrical and mechanical drawings.

· Track time spent, and service completed on travel and equipment repair and prepare accurate paperwork timely.

· Check equipment for safety decals and safe operating features.

· Builds, develops, and maintains productive relationships with clients and vendors while maintaining a high level of quality service.

· Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Must have a clean driving record.

· Able to function as an effective team member and work independently with little or no supervision.

· Possesses a positive and enthusiastic approach to many different assignments and can focus on goals and objectives.

· Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening) and the ability to work in partnership effectively with a varied group of professionals.

· Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.

· Able to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.

· Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet deadlines. Over-time and working Holidays may be required. Working on a weekend rotation is required. Travel w/overnight stays is sometimes required.

· Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and understands and complies with Cimarron and Customer Safety Policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Three (3) plus years of experience repairing compressors or equipment requiring mechanical and electrical systems.

· Industrial Maintenance or Diesel Technology Mechanical skillsets a plus.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder. Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 4 hours per day. Ability to bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time.

· Handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, volt meters, and other small parts.

· Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and seldom lifting to 75 lbs.

· Exposure to bright light, extreme temperature, loud noise, dust, gas, or fumes.

· Ability to wear a respirator and/or hearing protection as required.

· Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
