Job Summary
Under the direction of the Audit Supervisor performs financial, compliance and operational audits of County agencies or businesses. Responsible for gathering and analyzing data for internal audits. Research laws, regulations and County ordinances. Establishes and implements audit programs. Collaborates with Audit Supervisor(s) during all phases of the audit process including developing and documenting a plan for each audit, developing auditing objectives, audit scope, budget and resources needed. Prepares work programs to achieve audit objectives. Completes audits within budget and time deadlines. Communicates results of internal audit to the Audit Supervisor and County Auditor. Prepares audit reports and management letters. Assists in the implementation of recommendations from internal audit. Assigned to special assignments as needed. Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Three (3) or more years' full-time work experience assessing risks, controls and processes for compliance, efficiency and/or effectiveness is required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In good standing as: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
  • Master's in Business Administration or Public Administration.
  • Six-12 months of supervisory experience in a professional work environment.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
