The Single-Use Technologies Field Applications Specialist (FAS) will interface between the BioProduction Sales Organization, the internal source base within the Company, third party partners/suppliers and the end-user/Customer! The FAS will provide strategic and in-depth scientific technical support for efficient Single-Use System solutions and ensure customers’ needs are met and matched to Thermo Fisher Scientifics' capabilities.
- Act as primary field technical liaison between the Commercial team and the Customer with a focus on Single-Use products and related equipment to clients
- Provide effective beneficial solutions on design and development, process optimization, consultation, technical support, and troubleshooting of Single-Use products and systems
- Lead technical product specification & application discussions with clients & prospective customers.
- Assist with customer surveys, inquiries, User Requirements Specifications (URS) and product briefs; conducting process mapping activities, collaborating & making recommendations to clients on potential process improvements through utilization of Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ technologies & concepts
- Work closely with the Quality Engineering team supporting quality complaint investigations
- Apply inter-company experts and resources to recommend technical applications and process development or improvement studies
- Drive continuous improvement by providing recommendations on how products & business systems can be improved
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience working in the Biotech/Biopharmaceutical industry
- Preferred experience in both upstream and downstream processes and applications
- Experience with problem solving tools such as 8D, 5-Whys, Cause and Effect, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Detailed working knowledge of Single-Use systems and technologies
- Comprehensive understanding of processes and applications with proven operational hands-on and technical experience of Single-Use technologies and systems within the industry
- Comprehensive knowledge & understanding of cGMP & other regulatory guidelines combined with applicable understanding of the business and financial aspects of the Biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry including the ability to apply that understanding in making sound business decisions
- Excellent communication & presentation skills and ability and willingness to work across professional & cross-functional teams
- Highly motivated and self-directed requiring minimal supervision including the ability to work on multiple projects
- Project management skills preferred combined with the ability to multi-task effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and process data to draw the appropriate conclusions
- Must be willing to travel to customer sites; must have a valid driver's license

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $83,300.00–$125,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
