Feed Mill Operator

Gorans Brothers is looking to fill a full-time position for a Feed Mill Operator. The Feed Mill Operator position is primarily responsible for feed production and feed delivery. The Feed Mill operator currently report to the Director of Farm Operations. We are looking for highly motivated people who desire to work on a turkey farm that values excellent character and work ethic in the Willmar area.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with daily feed production.
• Deliver feed as needed.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ingredients.
• Schedule delivery of ingredients as needed.
• Loads trucks efficiently and uniformly.
• Receive ingredients into the mill - both bulk and bagged.
• Filling micro ingredient and clean out ingredient bins as needed.
• Keeps necessary records and fills out all appropriate paperwork.
• Submits weekly and monthly feed and ingredient samples for quality control.
• Assist with feed batching system.
• Comprehends WEM automation software to operate Feed Mill daily.
• Maintain working knowledge of Feed Mill operation needed repairs, safety.
• Work with Mill Manager to develop and execute comprehensive mill safety plan.
• Work with Mill Manager to develop and execute comprehensive housekeeping plan – reduce explosion/fire risk.
• Follows company Biosecurity policy when necessary.
• Safely operates trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
• Work with will manager to develop Feed Mill equipment plan – needs, maintenance, replacement.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that equipment is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
• Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at job site.
• Assist with seasonal tasks – drying corn, dumping corn trucks, hauling corn, cleaning bins.
• Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.

Qualifications

• Greater than one year of related experience or an Associate’s degree
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Experience with driving and operating semi-trailer truck.
• Experience with operating skid loader and payloader.
• Mechanical skills
• Valid Drivers License
• U.S. work authorization (Required)

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 130 feet
• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Some weekend work is required.
