This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at South Florida Reception Center in Reception & Orientation.

 

Salary Rate: $32,760.00 annually

 

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position is responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of the photographic laboratory at the SFRC. Duties include photographing of inmates received each day as well as making ID photographs for new employees and training inmates selected for the training program in all phases of photography.
  • Instructs and assists in printing 3x5 color prints of each inmate.  This encompasses developing prints using a 3-chemical development system in a semi-automatic roll paper processor.
  • Provides classroom instruction in photography to selected inmates.  Teaches inmates to use proper procedures and techniques; to care for tools, chemicals, and equipment and to work safely and efficiently.
  • Instructs and assists in photographing all inmates received each day; ensuring that each inmate is properly groomed and dressed and that the correct prison number is recorded with each photograph.
  • Instructs and assists in the development of both black and white and color film using chemicals and temperature controls to ensure a uniform negative is produced.
  • Performs general institutional photographic assignments including publicity and news release photographs, construction and progress reports, crime scene and accident reports, inmate sports and activities and portraits of top DC administrative personnel.
  • Continually checks the condition of equipment and performs preventive maintenance personnel.
  • Instructs and assists in cutting trimming and mounting of prints to corresponding records and properly identifies and files each negative.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain production logs and other required documentation.
  • Ability to multi-task, managing several areas of food service operations at the same time with different inmate workers assigned to different areas and tasks.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to all areas of food service operations.
  • Upon completion of training, ability to complete work assignments without constant direct supervision.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the occupational area being taught, as defined by the employing agency. College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training in the occupational area being taught by the employing agency. Can also substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
