MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 21+ years old
- At least 2 years of college (48 units), AA degree, or a Pass on After School for All-ExCEL Qualification Exam (No Child Left Behind-NCLB)
- Must have experience working with High School youth
- Must be highly motivated to provide quality program opportunities to youth
- Must be a team player
- Knowledge or expertise in youth development
- Must be comfortable leading physical activities with youth
- Must be available daily Monday-Friday during youth program hours from 1:00-6:00 pm
- Must be willing to participate in bi-annual evaluations and supervision meetings as needed
- TB Test clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages strongly preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in organic farming or urban gardening, ideally including composting and all aspects of crop management
- Knowledge of working with students through gardening, arts, dance, drama, or sports
- Connections in the local San Francisco community

POSITION SUMMARY
Urban Services YMCA is seeking a Farm/Garden Program Leader for The Academy SF @ McAteer High School - 555 Portola Dr, San Francisco, CA 94131
YMCA After School Program Leader provides meaningful and enriching opportunities for youth in YMCA programs that are offered at local elementary, middle, and High Schools. The Farm/Garden Program Leader will help students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills by providing assistance, mentorship, organized sports in the Morning, Lunchtime and After School Program. Program Leaders will provide academic enrichment in classroom groups of up to 20students; organize and provide farm-related engagement and education to students outside of class;organize school day and Afterschool students to participate in robust farm and gardening education. Individuals hired for this position will work under the supervision of the Program Site Coordinators and Directors, and will need to be flexible, willing to take initiative, be punctual, and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire school year - August 16, 2023 to June 4, 2024.
Pay range: $19.50-$23/hour
