Farmers Market Staff-Hydroponic Microgreens

Looking for staff to run our booth at local Farmers Markets, selling our locally grown hydroponic microgreens. YOU MUST HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE TO WORK FOR US. VEHICLE MUST BE EITHER SUV OR SEDAN. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS JOB IF YOU DON'T HAVE A VEHICLE.

-Will be primarily Saturdays and/or Sunday mornings.

-Markets may be in Montgomery County, Washington, DC or Northern Virginia. Also, Baltimore market is available. We grow our microgreens in Rockville but the markets are all over the DMV. All supplies are picked up at our Rockville location the morning of the market before heading to Farmers Market.

-Markets are open in all weather conditions, except if we are notified ahead of time.

-Markets are open year round. We are looking for someone able to work at least 6 months, preferably longer if possible.

-Person must be able to set up and breakdown our booth including a 10’ x 10’ pop up tent, tables, supplies and microgreen trays (Quite easy to do). Our set up/breakdown usually takes no more than 20 minutes.

-Person MUST be reliable, honest and able to converse with customers. (I can teach them about the microgreen varieties and nutritional benefits). The primary purpose is to sell our microgreens!! Employee MUST have strong communication skills and be willing to engage with customers to explain about and sell our microgreens. We have a strong following at all of our Farmers Markets so many customers know what they want.

-Person must show up on time, usually 1 hour before opening and must not breakdown and leave early. (The manager running that market strictly enforces these policies).

-Person will be swiping credit cards, taking cash and making change so honestly and trust is paramount.

-All supplies and microgreens are picked up from us in Rockville the morning of each Farmers Market and returned that same day after market closes.

-Must have vehicle large enough to load our supplies. Typically a medium sedan, small SUV or larger is fine.

-Market shift is typically a 5-6 hour shift including setup/breakdown

-Pay starts at $17.00/hour. Paid every 2 weeks, direct deposit. You earn tips at the markets. On average tips run between $20-$50.00/shift. Sales bonus earned when you reach certain sales thresholds which are very reachable. Potential to earn upwards of $25-$35/hour depending on sales.
