ABOUT THIS JOB

You will work 8-hour shifts.

As a Family Support Specialistat Volunteer Behavioral Health, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of families through a variety of responsibilities. Using a systems approach model, you will work closely with families to assess their needs and develop individualized plans. You will implement behavior management strategies based on applied behavior analysis principles, ensuring the well-being of both the child and the entire family. Your role will involve providing home and community-based training and respite, allowing families to access the support they need in their own environment. You will be responsible for conducting ecological assessments and functional analysis of behavior problems, collecting data, and providing written and oral evaluations to parents to ensure progress and daily objectives are met. Collaborating with families, you will develop Individualized Family Respite Plans (IFRP) and design training programs tailored to their specific needs. Additionally, you will assist families in identifying and accessing respite alternatives within the community while providing direct respite during skills generalization training for the child. With your expertise and dedication, you will play a vital role in empowering families and fostering positive change.

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, with some prior experience working with families and children
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• A basic knowledge of child development and behavioral management techniques is preferred
