Summary
The Specialist supports a unique population of child care caregivers called ‘Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care’ (FFN) and/or families. The Specialist facilitates weekly training support groups in community-based locations with FFN caregivers and/or families, and educates them on various topics, including but not limited to: supporting the social emotional development of young children; promoting healthy practices; promoting early literacy skills, building safe and nurturing learning environments; and injury prevention. In addition, the Specialist fosters a learning environment that promotes peer-to-peer conversation, and provides Support and resources to FFN caregivers and/or families in need.

- Deliver training support groups within the community to FFN caregivers and/or families to expand their knowledge, understanding and practices that will improve the quality of care they provide to young children and support their developmental trajectory.
- Provide resources, Support and assistance to FFN caregivers and families who have unmet needs.

Requirements
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field and a minimum of five years of classroom and/or supervisory experience working with young children (or for NV programs, eligible to obtain trainer status in The Nevada Registry).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Proficient with computer programs and ability to navigate technology including but not limited to Microsoft Office, email systems, SLACK and related programs.
- Ability to travel throughout the state and nationally, have a current/valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and have reliable transportation by automobile at all times.
- Ability to meet background check requirements and obtain a Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card upon initial hire and for the duration of employment.
- Ability to provide proof of completion of the COVID-19 vaccination series prior to hire. Reasonable accommodations may be considered for religious and medical exemptions.
