Position Summary:
We are currently seeking per diem Family Peer Specialists in Onondaga County. The Family Peer Specialist performs functions relevant to providing peer services to our families receiving Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS).

Job Responsibilities:
- Implements treatment goals through the use of individual and group modalities in both the home and in the community.
- Provides support, advocacy, community connection and education relevant to individual family/caregiver/child needs in accordance with the approved treatment or service plan.
- Introduces and connect families to community activities that are cultural, educational or recreational and consistent with each family's income to ensure opportunity to continue post-Waiver.
- Participates in CCSS program activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Must be a parent or caregiver of a child with a history of emotional and/or behavioral problems (parent or caregiver is defined by OMH as a parent, foster parent or other family member with direct responsibility for the care of a child with a diagnosis of emotional disturbance.) or complex medical needs.
- Must be cleared by the State Child Abuse Registry and must complete fingerprinting clearance.
- Completion of OMH approved training curriculum.
- Must have or be willing to work toward Family Peer Advocate credentialing.
- All agency trainings as required.

Pay: Rate per 1 billable hour: $21.37
