The Family Navigator (FN) guides children aged 0-5 and their families to support social and emotional well-being. This position will lead Parent Cafés, offer parent education, and manage cases. This role involves accurate data entry, referrals, adapting to client needs, and building collaborative relationships with colleagues, service providers, and clients. The Family Navigator is a key member of the Esperanza Mental Health and Wellness Team at Adelante Mujeres and reports to the Beyond Trauma Coordinator.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitates Parent Cafés and parenting education workshops using best practices.
  • Provide navigation support to children ages 0-5 and their families to address social & emotional health and wellness needs.
  • Conduct needs assessments for Latine households with children aged 0-5 in Washington County.   
  • Enroll individuals in the Oregon Health Plan as an OHP assister.
  • Maintain knowledge of community crisis resources and health services for participants' benefit.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Education, or related field or certification in Community Health Work
  • 2 years' experience doing case management or navigation support
  • 2 years minimum in early childhood development and/or health experience
  • 1 year minimum implementing and/or facilitating projects
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar programs 
  • Ability to work independently and flex schedule to meet family's needs and deadlines.

Additional Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical accommodation.
  • Complete Criminal Background Registry enrollment letter for facility number CC503161
  • Possess current driver's license and auto insurance coverage.
  • Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or training.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of people, including excellent verbal and written communication.

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Salary range: $22-$24 per hour, depending on qualifications.
  • Classification: Full-time, non-exempt, working 40 hours per week
  • Telework: up to 2 days a week
  • Consultation group for ongoing support
  • Benefits: health, vision, dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401K pension plan, life insurance, EAP, professional development opportunities, paid leave of absence, paid holidays (12.5 days annually), sick days (up to 9 days annually), paid closure time during christmas and new year holidays, vacation per year (up to 20 days years one through five, up to 25 days after five years), and sabbatical (1 month at 10 years of employment)
