We are looking for an experienced, bilingual paralegal/legal assistant to focus on Family Law with a minimum experience of 1 year. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of a group of talented attorneys in a collaborative firm culture handling civil matters including but not limited to Divorce cases, SAPCRs, Probate, Estate, Wills, Contracts, etc.
This position involves working as an integral part of the litigation department providing a full range of support including, but not limited to coordinating/monitoring the docket of cases assigned, preparation/revision of correspondence, pleadings, and documents; filing forms/motions with the court; filing and file maintenance; and much more. This position is extremely writing intensive. We are in search of a candidate with high level writing skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and statements; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
- Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
- Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
- Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
- Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Communicates with government agencies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Family Code, county local rules, and individual court policies and procedures for Harris/Montgomery County.
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
