Family Law Paralegal

Busy Family Law practice seeking a highly motivated, self-starter, reliable and independent seasoned Family Law Paralegal with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience. Please submit a cover letter, resume and writing sample. The optimal candidate will be able to do the following:

• Independently, with the oversight of attorney, prepare and draft pleadings, motions and discovery, child support guidelines worksheets, financial affidavits and mandatory disclosures
• Utilize the Florida Courts E-Portal for filing pleadings
• Obtain hearing and mediation dates and coordinate with opposing counsel and the courts
• Prepare for trial
• Accurately type 50 words per minute with excellent writing and grammar skills
• Proficiency in Clio, Lawmatics, Calendly, Google Calendar, Microsoft Word and notating the client’s files
• Independently assist clients with preparing and gathering documents and information for preparation of discovery responses, including preparation of child support guidelines worksheets, financial affidavits and mandatory disclosures
• Efficiently and accurately document and ensure all deadlines are met timely including deadlines for filing responsive pleadings, discovery responses, pretrial deadlines, etc.
• Prepare exhibits and other documents in an organized fashion for hearings
• Develop a professional, respectful and pleasant rapport with clients, opposing attorneys, courts and potential witnesses

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
