Who We Are

We support our clients in three distinct ways. We are passionate about estate planning and helping clients plan for life’s unexpected events by creating wills, trusts, health care proxies, and advising on issues relating to asset protection, guardianship, conservatorship, and other estate planning documents. We are a dedicated Family Law practice providing compassionate legal guidance for prenuptial, cohabitation, co-ownership, and postnuptial agreements, adoption, divorce, alimony, custody, and other Family Law concerns. We are proud to serve diverse communities, including LGBTQ and Polyamory communities. We also solicit cases that exist at the confluence of these practice areas and involve post-death and trust administration, and fiduciary litigation.

You have exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult or unexpected situations. You enjoy working collaboratively with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, and are committed to continuous learning.

As an experienced Family Law Attorney, you will:

• Build Client Relationships: Forge strong, empathetic relationships with clients, guiding them through complex legal processes.
• Negotiate and Communicate: Utilize your excellent communication and influence skills in negotiations, ensuring client satisfaction while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Draft and File Legal Documents: Handle the drafting, filing, and management of legal documents, attend court proceedings, and work collaboratively with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
• Liaise with Professionals: Act as a liaison between clients and professionals like psychologists and social workers, incorporating their insights into case strategies.
• Prepare for Court Proceedings: Lead in motion hearings, pretrial conferences, and trials, ensuring thorough preparation and organization of evidence and witnesses.

Qualifications:

· Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school required; Member in Good Standing of the Massachusetts Bar required.

· 4-6 years’ experience in Family Law, civil litigation, or legal research experience, preferably relating to Family Law, or previous employment as a Paralegal, Law Clerk or Intern.

· Familiarity with asset valuation principles, financial statements, complex employee compensation, and tax concepts is preferred.

· Previous certification or willingness to participate in mediation and collaborative law training if required.

· Demonstrated time management skills, high level of self-organization, and the ability to accurately handle multiple cases with tight deadlines.

· Ability to apply critical thinking to objectively identify and analyze information and use that information to make the best logical decision for the desired outcome.

· Proven negotiation, debate, and persuasion skills.

· Written and oral communication and advocacy.

· Legal drafting and research.

· Evaluating evidence, financial statements, and tax information.

· Ability to explain legal matters to clients with little or no legal knowledge

· Responding to questions and problems (case-related and not) on the fly.

· Client service orientation and high touch responsiveness to inquiries from team members, clients, and others.

· Proficiency using technology and adapting to new technology.
