Job Description
The Benefits Assistant-FHC - Bilingual role is to support the FHC Benefit Coordinators in the day-to-day operation of Family Health Center’s prepaid sliding fee program and provides support to FHC assistant director as requested. This individual facilitates face-to-face, phone or video communications to customers with limited English proficiency. This individual will complete various clerical functions to address member’s questions or direct the call to the appropriate area for resolution and complete scheduling and maintenance of various files and databases. The Benefits Assistant-FHC-Bilingual will
perform the central reception activities for Family Health Center (FHC) accounting, membership, and pharmacy.
This position will be located In Office.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Two years’ experience in a secretarial and/or customer service role. Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated proficiency with basic principles of business math involving calculations and percentages.
Preferred/Optional: Two years’ experience in governmental assistance programs. Knowledge of income tax forms, W-2’s and employer wage statements. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Access.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Certified Application Counselor designation through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Certified Application Counselor registration through the State of Wisconsin Office of Commissioner of Insurance. State of Wisconsin Insurance Agent License.
Monday through Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with one hour lunch.
