Position Description: Several EE and CPE courses need support for lab sections, recitations, office hours and grading. UTAs circulate among students to answer questions, facilitate lab activities, guide progress toward learning objectives and provide constructive feedback. Graders will follow rubrics, assign points and provide constructive feedback. Lab/Recitation assistants must be available during the same sections each week. Office hours and grading may be performed remotely and scheduled in coordination with the instructor.
This position requires a full semester commitment of 3-10 hours per week and may include the following duties, expectations, and requirements:
- Collaboration with faculty and/or GTA affiliated with the program and course assignment as necessary regarding assessments, lessons, and course content to carry out position assignments.
- Collaboration with faculty and/or GTA affiliated with the program and course assignment as necessary to discuss any course related issues.
- Answering questions, providing feedback, and other correspondence with students and colleagues in person and online via email consistent with scope of role in the course.
- Monitor and track student progress through the use of Canvas.
- Records maintenance and retention of student coursework via Canvas or as hardcopy.
- Responsible for providing 3 office hours per week and meeting with students at their appointment request.
- Assisting faculty and/or GTA with grading and evaluating student work according to rubrics, solutions and other instructions.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
