Job Summary
The College of Education Educational Leadership Studies Department is recruiting a graduate student to serve as a Teaching Assistant beginning in Fall 2023. Funding is available for the 23-24 academic year only, but future funding may be possible depending on enrollments. The assistantship is a nine-month, half- time appointment requiring a minimum of teaching 2 courses per semester (four courses per academic year).
Graduate students will receive tuition support, health insurance, a monthly stipend, office space, software, and a computer. The student in this position will have access to opportunities to attend conferences, collaborate with multiple disciplines, and conduct research at the state, national and international levels.
Responsibilities
1. Teach and serve as the instructor of record for up to four undergraduate courses (per academic year) at the University of Kentucky. These courses will be part of the new Leadership for Community Education & Human Learning (LCE) undergraduate program and the UK Center for Next Generation Leadership. Specific teaching duties may include instructing undergraduate courses, new content development, classroom management, and assignment grading.
2. Provide support for the LCE undergraduate program. Specific activities may include providing logistical support for other LCE engaged courses, contacting guest speakers, website and social media updates, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
A bachelor's degree in education, leadership, or a related field.
* A minimum of 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
* General teaching experience, including experience with a Learning Management Platform, such as Canvas. * For a Type 1 TA (strongly preferred), 18 credit hours of graduate coursework in a leadership related discipline.
* Self-motivated and able to work efficiently without direct supervision
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
Masters preferred, prior teaching experience preferred, prior leadership experience preferred.
