The Exercise Science and Kinesiology program at Juniata College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Exercise Physiology. This is a full-time 3-year fixed term position, with the potential to convert to a tenure-track position. Rank is open based on qualifications and experience.

Juniata College is a selective, nationally ranked, liberal arts institution located in south central Pennsylvania, highly regarded for academic excellence (see http://www.juniata.edu).
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching assignments will include introductory through upper-level courses in Exercise Science and kinesiology including exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, sports nutrition, and biology, general education, and related courses as needed.
The Exercise Science and Kinesiology program started in the Fall of 2023 and is in pursuit and maintenance of CAAHEP-CoAES accreditation. The new faculty member will be involved in the development of clinical partnerships, curriculum design, and the development and maintenance of an Exercise Physiology laboratory. Ability to develop new course material in areas of expertise, and experience and ability to work with a culturally and nationally/internationally diverse student body.
This position will require creative collaboration with faculty, athletics, a student-centered approach to teaching and advising, assistance with student career development, participation in scholarly and professional development activities, and contribution to the development and maintenance of the program and the college.

Qualified candidates will possess a doctorate in Exercise Science, or closely related field, with an Exercise Physiology concentration. The ideal candidate will possess teaching experience with a minimum 3-5 years at the university level, related professional experience, an active and strong scholarly agenda, a willingness to improve and grow the Exercise Science and kinesiology program, demonstrated ability to collaborate, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching and experiential learning. Academic research experience with undergraduate student mentoring, and experience in managing Exercise Physiology/Sport Science Laboratories. Professional certifications in the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) are highly desirable.
