We are looking for a Facility Supervisor to join our Charles River Accelerator & Development Labs team in San Diego, CA.

What you will do!
In the Facility Supervisor role, you have the responsibility of supervising daily husbandry activities. This involves not only overseeing employee work directly but also managing it through others. You will play an essential role in planning, creating, assigning, and monitoring work schedules for staff, including assignments for daily husbandry tasks, as well as coordinating weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage. You'll conduct routine quality assurance inspections to verify staff adherence to established room, cage, rack sanitation schedules, and environmental parameters to ensure security measures are met and exceeded. In collaboration with a Human Resources team, you will participate in various personnel-related tasks, including conducting interviews, and investigating personnel issues. You will travel site-to-site during your work shift as needed to fulfill your responsibilities.
As the Facility Supervisor, you'll investigate concerns as directed by the Animal Welfare Team or Attending Veterinarian. Your role will involve proposing and implementing appropriate solutions to active concerns while also taking steps to prevent future recurrences. Monitoring the acquisition, receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies and animals will be conducted daily. Additionally, you will coordinate the movement of animals within the facility and assign housing locations for new arrivals. Asset management and inventory tracking for CRADL equipment will be important for reporting purposes. You'll also be responsible for generating work orders and ensuring all corrective and preventative maintenance procedures are documented and resolved in a timely manner, with updates provided to management.
Who are we looking for?
A candidate that possesses a high school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in animal or life sciences field preferred. A minimum of 4 years in a laboratory facility of which 2 years is supervisory or lead technician experience required. LATG certification from AALAS or Certified Supervisor (CS) certification is a plus. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
The pay range for this position is $75K-80K USD per year. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
