Title:
Facility Manager and Assistant, Facility Security Officer
Position Summary:
KBR, National Security Solutions (NSS) is seeking a highly motivated and high-energy individual to provide Facility Manager and AssistantFacility Security Officer related duties in the Colorado Springs, CO area.
The Facility Manager and Assistant, Facility Security Officer activities provide day-to-day support to NSS employees through effective management of facility and security needs and requirements, including facility operations and maintenance, security, and health and safety requirements. The primary work location is the N. Newport office in Colorado Springs (COS), CO, but duties will include support to other NSS offices in the COS area. The Facility Operations Manager is expected to be present in one of the COS offices M-F during core hours. Due to the nature of the work, this is not a remote work position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Manager related duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for planning, managing, receiving, and resolving customer requests and inquiries related facility operations:
    • facilities planning, refurbishment, construction, allocation of offices and furniture.
    • food / snack services
    • janitorial
    • soliciting move services and maintenance or repair activities
    • performing office service activities such as mail services, forms management and ordering office supplies
  • Applies policies, procedures, and best practice processes to support facilities management and office services activities.
  • Generates purchase requisitions for services, properly codes and processes vendor invoices.
  • Works closely with Operations Teams, building management/engineers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure efficient and successful day-to-day building operations.
  • Supports day-to-day facilities efforts ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and clean work environment for all KBR employees and subcontractors.
  • Supports environmental, safety, Security, and other facility plans, process, and audits.
  • Ensures kitchens and meeting/training rooms are clean and presentable, with all necessary materials and catering items to support meetings, events, and daily operations.
  • Coordinates with Facility, Finance, Procurement, and Operations leadership to identify and retain quality and cost-effective building contractors and suppliers.
  • Supports the management of office equipment maintenance / inspections to include AEDs, beverage machines, fire extinguishers, and postage meters.
  • Maintains Local Emergency Response Plans (LERPs).
  • Advises and supports the implementation of sustainability solutions across multiple locations.
  • Orders office and kitchen supplies and keep inventory of stock.
  • Supports the planning and execution of company meetings and events to include sourcing, budgets, services, and post event reconciliation.
  • Manages conference room calendars.
  • Receives and distributes daily mail and deliveries.
  • Escorts vendors/maintenance/construction/visitors on as needed basis
  • Maintains site morale, plans, and executes employee morale events.
  • Maintains the facility in good working order, responsible for arranging, managing, and assuring HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and other facility maintenance is performed.
  • Performs light repairs, e.g., replacing light bulbs, addressing minor plumbing and electrical issues, coordinates with Facility Engineer on common area repairs.

Assistant Facility Security Officer related duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assists the FSO with the overall security program.
  • Performs National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) related activities. These responsibilities include oversight and administration of the following functions: (i) classified material control, (ii) personnel security, (iii) DoD open storage area, and SCIF areas, and (iv) information systems processing classified information.
  • Ensures government, company, and customer-specific security requirements are effectively implemented within the facility.
  • Oversees administration and integrity of information systems processing classified information.
  • Ensures Open Storage areas are effectively controlled and monitored.
  • Interacts directly with governmental oversight and law enforcement agencies, as necessary to include direct interface with DCSA/USG Program Security Officers (PSO) during inspections and audits.
  • Investigates security infractions and prepares reports to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintains accountability of communications security (COMSEC) devices and their associated keying material.
  • Identifies, monitors, and provides briefings to management and employees on key security issues which have the potential to impact business operations.
  • Processes and schedules employees for security clearances and track required training, including SCI accesses and briefings, read-ins and debriefs.
  • Coordinate briefings for employees travelling internationally.
  • Processes, monitors, and manages building and SCIF access badges.
  • Processes, monitors, and manages SCI billets and Special Access Program(s) accesses.
  • Responsible for DD-254 content, edits, and updates for Prime and Subcontractor Contract DD-254s.

Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
  • Five years of experience in administration and management of Department of Defense security programs that involve physical security and information systems which process classified information.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual and ICDs
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • FSO SPeD certification.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; maintains friendly and professional decorum and demeanor; inspires collaboration and cooperation with teammates and others.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and to flex schedule as required to meet business need.
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing and electrical work.
  • Cognizant of budget and ability to work within budget.
  • Strong organizational, project management, planning, problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to surge beyond normal business hours to provide office support.
  • Willingness to take directions from all levels of management and build respectful relationships with all teammates and quests.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities, meet deadlines, and develop plans on how to accomplish departmental and maintenance goals.
  • Have an active driver license and ability to commute to multiple company facilities in town.

Security Clearance Requirement:
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI)
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
This is a full-time position requiring 8-hour days; with the ability to flex daily hours to meet daily Facility and/or Security needs. This may mean starting times as early as 6:00 AM or performing work into the evening after 6:30 PM.
Basic Compensation:
$87,885 - $131,880
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
