Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician
Location: Newburgh, NY
Job Type: Full Time Hours: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mon - Thurs
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary: $20-30/hr.
Job Summary: The Facility Maintenance Technician will support the Plant Engineer in performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and related systems. Performs maintenance, calibration, and setup of all assigned equipment including vacuum chamber equipment and machinery used for thin film optical coating.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Duties will be performed at the direction and under the supervision of Plant Engineer:
Routine/preventative maintenance of TecPort vacuum chambers and other equipment
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair optical coating equipment and systems
Maintain and update facility in support of manufacturing operations
Assist with process equipment upgrades
Assist with equipment safety control development and maintenance
Maintain records for process equipment operation and maintenance
Comply with relevant regulations, codes, and health and safety standards
Communicate facility equipment status to relevant personnel
Disassemble diffusion, Cryo and mechanical pumps to remove parts and make repairs
Use vacuum leak detectors, residual gas analyzer and other testing devices to diagnose equipment malfunctions
Maintain clean, organized workspace and keep all parts/spares/tools stored in designated areas
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to troubleshoot complex processing equipment
Experience reading electrical and mechanical schematics
Experience working with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment
Experience with vacuum pumps, vacuum chambers, RF energy, high voltage, and high purity gas systems preferred, not required
Good written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work well in group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards
Ability to shift between changing tasks and priorities
Education and Experience:
Minimum 2 – 3 years directly applicable experience
High School or equivalent
Technical school preferred
Technical/mechanical/HVAC/plumbing/industrial electrical certification preferred
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
Must be able to work on government programs
Physical conditions:
Able to lift 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladder and step ladder
Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
Ability to use hand tools and other equipment
