Job Description:
Responsible for all powered industrial lift training, P.M. services on forklifts, box trucks, and facility vehicles. Along with ordering, maintaining, and stocking all oil, fluids, and chemicals. Taking care of scrap metals, metal chips, and trash. Taking care of wastewater and hazardous waste.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Training on powered industrial lifts.
- P.M. services on all powered industrial lifts.
- Ordering plant oils and supplies.
- Taking care of all plant scrap and trash.
- Helping with general maintenance/custodial.
- And all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be mechanically inclined, self-motivated, organized, trustworthy, multitasker, and be able to work and complete tasks alone or in a team environment.
- Considerable knowledge and experience and facility repairs.
- Must be proficient with powered industrial lifts, CMMS, excel, hand tools, power tools, welding, and torch equipment.
- Must be proficient in reading and comprehending electrical schematics, blueprints, plans, models, and sketches.
- Broad working knowledge of all plant equipment including setup procedures on production equipment such as lathes, mills, drills, hones, grinders, pumps, cranes, and all machinery in the plant.
- Ability to work from verbal or written instructions, make judgment calls, and be quick on assessments.
- Follow all lockout/tagout procedures.
Education and/or Training:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Extensive industrial power lift experience.
- At least (1) year of general Facility Maintenance.
- Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, industrial fluids, methods, and standard practices of shop mechanics.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Ability to stand for 8+ hour shifts.
- Lift/carrying/moving up to 50+ pounds. Push, pull, bend, and twist upper and lower body. Extensive use of hands to grasp and adjust machinery.
- Ability to use industrial aerial lifts and industrial-powered lifts.
- Work in cold and hot climates.
- Work overtime and weekends.
