Job description

The Facilities Worker IIworks with the Director of Property Management – primary job responsibilities include on-site cleaning and maintenance of Liberty properties. The position will also assist in the oversight of safety and security for Liberty clients, staff, consumers, and properties. The Facilities Worker II reports to and is supervised by the Director of Property Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows the agency’s mission, philosophies, goals, planning objectives, special initiatives, safety & health practices and supports their ongoing development and implementation.
  • Works with agency management and staff to support compliance with our values of customer service and individualized care.
  • Review and adhere to Liberty administrative procedures and employee handbook and ensure assigned program staff are thoroughly oriented to these texts.
  • Assesses all cleaning needs, including residence, grounds, equipment, furnishings and automobiles.
  • Oversees contracted cleaning work as assigned.
  • Provides sanitation support, including residence, grounds, equipment, furnishings and automobiles as assigned.
  • Ensures a sanitary environment in order to eliminate spread of disease, keep sites vermin free, and maintains a safe living environment in compliance with all laws, ordinances and regulations.
  • Monitors maintenance needs, including residence, grounds, equipment, furnishings and automobiles.
  • Oversees contracted maintenance and repair work as assigned.
  • Completes maintenance and light repair work under the direction of supervisor – to include: painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical (like snaking/unplugging, replacing plumbing parts, replacing electrical devises as appropriate).
  • Maintains safe environment in order to eliminate on-site injuries, and maintain a safe living environment in compliance with all laws, ordinances and regulations. This also includes necessary shoveling and spreading salt/sand.
  • Completes and organizes inventories as assigned.
  • Completes varied tasks which may include some lifting.
  • Follows all safety and health policies, procedures and guidelines in the performance of their duties.
  • Completes all reporting, invoicing, work order tracking, email responses and other paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Engages at all times with clients, staff, consumers and community partners with respect, and works to ensure client/consumer rights are protected.
  • Attend regular supervision with the Director of Property Management.
  • Participate in agency meetings/activities, assigned workgroups activities and other meetings as required.
  • Other requests that may from time to time be made by the Director of Property Management or Executive Director to assist the agency's overall management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience.
  • Creativity, flexibility and ability to work in a changeable and fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, general cleaning, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, written, and computer knowledge and skills a plus.
  • Valid CT driver’s license required.
  • Bilingual capabilities a plus.
  • Three strong work related references (upon request).

Pay: $19.00 - $20.88 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
