Graduation from high school plus 2 months of experience in health care Food Service, and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of dish machine operation and cleaning chemicals.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions and instructions.
Ability to serve foods in accordance with the written menu for all regular, modified, and therapeutic diets.
Ability to adhere to mealtime schedules.

Reads printed menu for all food items and determines serving utensils needed.
Assembles supplies and serving utensils needed at the kitchenette and other stations.
Delivers loaded vessels of food to kitchenette area to various floors within the facility for Food Service.
Checks amounts of foods left uneaten by individual residents and reports information to Food Service Supervisor.
Breaks down soiled trays and scraps dishes; maintains a sanitized work station at all times.
Washes dishes using an automatic dishwasher and/or manually as required.
Washes and sanitizes pot and pans, cooking equipment, utensils, carts and work areas.
Places all unserved foods and beverages (covered, labeled, and dated) into appropriate coolers.
Prepares and portions foods for service.
Provides complete cafeteria service.
Relays all department communication during the day (telephone, notes, etc.)
Complies with sanitation requirements and safety rules at all times.
Documents aspects of work activity for Quality Assurance records.
Participates in required in-service and department meetings.
Records missing tray cards, answers the telephone and replaces supplies.
Performs other related work as required.
