Job Title: Facilities Technician D Job Code: CS20231804-99820 Job Location: Salt Lake City, UT This facility specialist is part of the facility maintenance and repair team and is responsible for the repair and maintenance of environmental chambers, production/surface mount equipment and other facility needs. The position supports critical equipment repair and 24/7 emergency response by insuring all maintenance and repairs are conducted in a timely and efficient manner. Essential Functions Installs, services, modifies, rebuilds, and repairs on SMT and environmental test equipment Accurate documentation of equipment and repairs in CMMS system Read and understand blue prints, schematics and wiring diagrams Follow local and state codes, safety and PPE practices Maintain and repair of surface mount equipment Use of meters and instrumentation Perform preventative maintenance and follow documented procedures Must complete trainings when needed and willing to work in a safety conscience environment Low voltage and controls HVAC and electrical system maintenance and repair Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience Preferred Qualifications: Ability to complete projects with little supervision and ability to manage time appropriately.
Excellent oral and written communication skills Capable of successfully handling multiple projects. Excellent customer service skills Ability to be on-call and respond to emergencies including weekends and after hours HVAC Certificate / Understanding of electrical and HVAC systems Strong troubleshooting experience of equipment 5 years surface mount equipment experience and environmental chamber experience including working on cascade systems. Electrician Apprenticeship, including licensing as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent, are preferred.
Other trade certifications in air-conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry, mechanics, plumbing/pipe fitting, and welding or equivalent education, training and/or experience may be preferred. Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations Work Environment and Physical Requirements Periodically exposed to potentially hazardous conditions including extreme heat/cold, noise levels, lasers, electricity, radiation, machinery and equipment, toxic substances, chemicals, acids, gases, oils, flammables, and toxic metals. Occasionally required to perform work at an elevated location; ability to ascend/descend on ladders, balance, and work in high areas.
