Job description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is critical to the success of Wavetronix employees. He or she may report directly to the Facilities Manager or the Facilities Lead and will support the company by gaining an understanding of all critical Building and Campus functions including all incoming utilities as well as mechanical apparatus, electrical and electrical distribution, and physical security for the campus. The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, heating, plumbing, and air conditioning (HVAC), etc.). Will be responsible to perform E.M. (emergency maintenance), P.M. (preventive maintenance), and Project work and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position. The successful candidate will perform these tasks in order to help the facilities team and Wavetronix overall to run as efficiently as possible as the company grows.
Required Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Have 2-5 years' experience in the following disciplines: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing & HVAC troubleshooting, and repair
  • Post high school education or Trade certificate/ certification is highly recommended and or preferred.
    • Enrollment in either will also be highly considered.
  • Have working knowledge of hand-tools, power-tools, electrical and other metering devices to accomplish skilled level work and projects as assigned or directed
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer
    service oriented
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
    Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
  • Ability to push/lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may
    require
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • Working in high noise levels requiring hearing protection
  • Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids and paints
  • Able to demonstrate a caring but firm personality

  • Should be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

The successful Facilities Maintenance Technician II will accomplish the following:
First 30 Days:
  • Go through the onboarding process to gain a better understanding of the company process and learn about the corporate culture
  • Work with the Facilities Manager/ Facilities Lead to understand complete scope of the role and start the implementation process of fulling this role
  • Begin learning the process of accessing the Facilities Helpdesk que to be able to open, complete, and close out workorders
  • Learn to order and or purchase tools/ supplies and parts as needed to complete work order requests as needed
  • Learn to use and navigate both Click-up, Teams and Office 365 environments

First 60 Days:
  • Responsible for continuous cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the Facilities' storage rooms and Warehouses, and all tools and spare parts contained within the rooms.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of all tools, parts and supplies needed to run the campus and buildings to maintain optimal performance.
  • Gain an understanding of responsibility for helping and assisting custodians and the custodial processes as needed as it pertains to maintaining the interior and exterior of all buildings on the Hobble Creek Campus.
  • Gain an understanding of responsibility for helping and assisting Gardening and its processes as needed as it pertains to maintaining the grounds of the Hobble Creek Campus.
  • Gain a basic understanding of the CMMS system and performing and documenting PM's and Workorders for recording.

First 90 Days
  • Begin to work autonomously through the Facilities Helpdesk que.
  • Begin to work autonomously through the (CMMS) P.M.'s assigned to them.
  • Help identify and implement any and all PM's that need to be updated or added to the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
  • Begin the development of good relationship with suppliers and vendors as well as Jacobson and all construction sub-contractors
