The Facilities Assistant II provides services related to maintenance and repair for several Covenant House properties.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Handles routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and physical plant of several Covenant House NJ properties.
- Serves as part of the Facilities team responsible for assisting with maintaining all agency buildings, equipment and inventory.
- Assists with maintenance requests process.
- Assists with Snow removal.
- Assists with inventory control and accountability of all equipment and supplies throughout multiple sites.
- Maintains inventory count of supplies and equipment.
- Assists in handling the shipping and receiving of purchased items.
- Safely and properly handles all agency property including tools and equipment.
- Assists housekeeping with heavy lifting, equipment cleaning and maintenance of closets, tools and equipment.
- Handles minor vehicle maintenance including weekly review of each vehicle as by the established maintenance checklist.
- Transports agency vehicles for repair, service and cleaning.
- Assists with fundraising event set up, delivery and disassembling. Event assistance may be conducted outside normal work hours.
- Operation of powered and non-powered tools.
- Follows all safety procedures.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
- Required to check emails daily.
- Required to attend Child Protection and other annual Mandatory training.
- May be required to work occasional weekends.
- All other duties assigned by management staff.
- Applicant must be available to work the following schedule: Monday thru Thursday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (32 hours a week).
Experience and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
- 1-2 years of related experience.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to the position including lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Travel with company vehicle to North Jersey locations.
