CACI is seeking a Facility Operations Specialist to provide support to the U.S. Navy Minor Caliber Guns Branch located at Picatinny Arsenal. Job duties include planning, coordinating, tracking, and managing facility operations and assets. Areas of responsibility include physical security, material handling, tools and test equipment, safety, fire warden, facilities, and training. The employee must be able to assist in inspections and maintenance of security systems and perform administrative functions as required and will participate as a member of the onsite Navy team to ensure the facility is conducive to successful day-to-day operations, is well organized, and is a safe working environment. Employee may also be required to provide support during minor caliber gun weapon system (MK38, MK46) routine operations such as crating/uncrating, crane/forklift operations, gun installations, and non-firing acceptance testing. The employee will provide advice or recommendations on facility issues to managers/peers and must be comfortable and effective in communicating with all levels of leadership.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Plan, coordinate, track, and manage facility operations and assets to include physical security, material handling, tools and test equipment, safety, fire warden, and training on basic tool utility.

  • Apply practical working knowledge of relevant DoD, Navy, and local instructions as they pertain to physical security, Arms Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E), and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) management.

  • Apply knowledge of relevant DoD, Navy, OSHA, and local instructions to the management and safe use of cranes, forklifts, and rigging gear.

  • Work with the Department of Public Works (DPW)/Garrison and their contractors to conduct repairs/improvements to building deficiencies and provide government oversight during any building repair/upgrade.

  • Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and conducive for day-to-day operations, is presentable for tours, and is a safe working environment for all.

  • Supporting Minor Caliber Gun Weapon System operations involving crane and forklift operations.

  • Perform routine weekly, monthly, annual maintenance/inspection/surveillance of lab equipment such as eyewash stations, cranes, etc. and document as required using applicable computer tools/repositories. If applicable, route inspection report(s) for proper signatures.

  • Manage all Minor Caliber Guns Engineering Lab tools, properly document checkout/check-ins of tools, manage and track the calibration of all tools in METCAL and ensure timely shipment of tools to the Navy calibration facility.

  • Apply and utilize knowledge of a variety of shop tools, machinery, electrical/electronic test equipment, and measuring devices.

  • Serve as HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) custodian. Coordinate with the installation HAZMART for hazardous material ordering and receiving, manage the HAZMAT storage lockers, and support inventories and inspections.

  • Serve as ammunition custodian for the lab/vault and support annual ammunition inspections.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Active Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one)

  • 5 years of related experience and minimum one year experience performing similar duties outlined herein.

  • Ability to successfully execute the duties and responsibilities outlined in the previous section.

  • Ability to conduct moderately strenuous physical activity including climbing, crouching, bending and lifting of approximately 50 lbs.

  • Effective communication skills.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of DOD, Navy, and OSHA, requirements, standards, and processes regarding execution of the activities outlined above.

  • Greater than the minimum required one year experience performing similar duties outlined herein.

  • Knowledge of Navy minor caliber guns (MK 38 and MK 46) operation and maintenance.

  • Training/certification on forklift and/or overhead crane operation.
