Position Title and Summary
The Facility Maintenance individual will be responsible for overseeing the general condition of the facility and ensuring it is safe; if a problem is identified, this person will ensure that the problem is repaired.

Shop Manager
Responsibilities
- Maintain building and grounds to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations concerning waste treatment, resource conservation programs and other facility related environmental concerns.
- May coordinate maintenance of facility-owned vehicles.
- May coordinate maintenance of shop equipment (i.e. fork trucks, hoists, etc.).
- Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
- May develop preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance operations.
- Responsible for maintenance inside and outside of building.
- May work on minor carpentry projects.
- Clean, maintain and organize work area and all equipment.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience in a related area.
- Requires a Class C Boilers License (Compliant with state law such as Northeast Mpls).
- Knowledge of machinery repair and maintenance including plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, etc.
- Possess the written, verbal, and interaction skills necessary to work both independently and cooperatively.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic PC Skills in a Windows environment - preferred
- Forklift and hoist experience - preferred
- Lockout/Tagout certified - preferred
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
- Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time.
- Exposure to heights and high ladder climbing.
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. regularly and more occasionally.
- Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require personal protective equipment including respiratory protection.
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
