The Role:
- Maintain building and manufacturing suites to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance. Ensure the GMP and non-GMP air handlers and exhaust fans are operational and perform maintenance.
- Manage external vendors who perform preventative maintenance activities; ensure GMP procedures are always followed when working within the GMP facility.
- Ensure facility fire suppression (water) system is with specification, and certification is current and maintain facility fire sprinkler system and fire extinguishers.
- Coordinate or perform preventative maintenance for all refrigerators and freezers. Assist validation and/or calibration activities as necessary. Ensure all doors are functional. Ensure proper temperature control is maintained.
- Perform or manage general facility maintenance, repair, and painting. Manage and coordinate outside vendor contracts and property management company responsibilities including parking lot, landscaping, roof, and back-up generator.
- Manage asset numbers and facilities work orders in JD Edwards. Coordinate and oversee vendor calibration and Preventative Maintenance services.
- Maintain facility HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems. Ensures maintenance plans for equipment are up to date and consistent with current best practice. Supports site safety and security initiatives.
- Assists in setup and breakdown of corporate events as needed. Assist in contractor support activities and providing contractor escort to work areas. Assist in maintenance activities including staging of material and equipment.
- Work with area personnel to ensure clean and professional appearance of general areas. Assist in daily upkeep of common areas, touch up painting, hanging of artwork, or hangers for office and science areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate:
- A valid driver's license is required
- Must have a high school diploma/GED plus 5+ years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related field) plus 3+ years of experience in facilities with an expertise in HVAC systems, as well as general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, lighting systems and basic building trades/construction techniques, methods, and practices.
- Must be strong with quality documentation, contractor/vendor management, and equipment upkeep.
- Preferred experience with software listed: Siemens systems for equipment controls, calibration/validation schedules on JD Edwards, change controls/investigations on Trackwise, and BlueMountain.
- Physical Requirements: On an average 8-hour day this position requires the ability to walk, sit and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, smell and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements including reading of written documents, visual inspection of materials and use of computer monitor screen frequently.
Pay:
- The anticipated starting salary range for this role in San Diego, CA is $90,000 to $95,000 annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
