- Services & Enterprises – this division is designed to meet the everyday needs of students and the campus community. Major divisions include Student Union, Event Services, UCLA Restaurants, UCLA Store, UCLA Photography, and Trademarks & Licensing.
Products - To provide essential and convenient items that are easily accessible, of high quality, and low cost, including, but not limited to, academic support, food, trademark merchandise, and convenience products. In addition, to continue evaluating the utility and convenience of all products to make improvements that will best serve the UCLA community.
Facilities - To provide a welcoming environment with as much space as possible for the optimal functioning of general academic support, student governments, student organizations, and social gatherings. To have state-of-the-art venues for programming and efficient, aesthetic, and multi-functional commercial outlets.
Programs - To provide and support a diversified array of programming by prioritizing student-run, student-initiated, student-centered programming that reflects the needs of the campus community in order to enhance educational, cultural, and developmental social interaction.
Services - To provide an outstanding level of support to student government, student groups, and student programs through the state-of-the-art office and community spaces, and by providing adequate financial resources and personnel to ensure an active and vibrant campus life.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Under direction of the Director of Facilities, supervises the Assistant Custodian Manager and over 20 Custodians. Coordinates custodial operations to cover over 300,000 square feet for seven days a week. Maintains the work request system and delegates, with assistance from the Assistant Custodial Manager, work orders to the custodial staff. Is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Custodial Office, including: financial tracking and reconciliation; developing financial and activities reports on spreadsheet; data entry; reception; filing; ordering supplies; record keeping; database management.
Hires, trains, schedules, discipline and evaluates staff in all activities. Develop, coordinate and evaluate training standards and procedures for custodial personnel. Conducts inspections of work performed by Custodians for quality control related purposes
Prepares and monitors departmental operating budget of over $1M. Is responsible for the ordering of equipment and arranges for repairs and/or replacement, as needed.
Provides day-to-day interface with Service Areas, University departments, and vendors. Assists the Director with the negotiation of fees and administering of contracts with vendors. Works with the Director to ensure compliance with building/safety codes, laws and regulations. Test cleaning materials and building supplies.

Qualifications:
-Requires 3+ years related management experience, preferably in a maintenance and/or operations environment that includes supervisory experience, and dispatch and/or office supervision responsibilities. -Related BA/BS required, or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
-Experience must demonstrate: effective supervisory skills; effective interface with diverse groups/individuals; effective handling of a variety of priorities and deadlines; good verbal/written communication skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, both verbally and in writing.
-PC word processing/spreadsheet proficiency required.
-This position is included in the California Department of Motor Vehicles’ (“DMV”) PULL NOTICE SYSTEM. ASUCLA will receive notices of any convictions for moving vehicle violations, both on and off the job. Employment is contingent on the maintenance of a valid CA driver’s license and good driving record, as defined by the DMV and ASUCLA.
