Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The Custodial Manager provides effective leadership, oversight and development to a zone custodial services unit that is responsible for the regular care and cleaning of University residence halls. This position is an essential member of the Operation leadership team and will be required to respond to emergencies after hours or during times the University is closed.
E ssential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, direct and oversee all work assignments using Industry Work Standards
2. Responsible for the supervision of staff to include, employee development, training, progressive counseling and the EPMS Process.
3. Responsible for ensuring QA inspection are being completed by lead custodians and the results are being placed into an electronic file. Deficiencies discovered during QA inspection will be noted and appropriate action taken to address issues with quality.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and 7 years related experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Computer literacy is required.
Preferred Qualifications
7 years of thorough knowledge of custodial cleaning industry to include processes, chemicals, equipment related to daily upkeep of facilities. ISSA Certification ( CIMS or CIMS-GB)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Position requires a thorough knowledge of the custodial services business, with emphasis in safety practices as it pertains to relevant areas of employment. Knowledge of business management practices, personnel management, planning problem solving and conflict resolution are essential. Computer literacy is essential.
Job Duties

Position is responsible for completing monthly inspection of supplies and equipment to verify condition and needs. Responsible to deliver annual equipment replacement needs to supervisor. Manages the successful delivery of contacted services for the area--rags and mats service contracts.

Enters work orders to maintenance and reviews weekly status of work order. Follow up with appropriate leadership on any work not completed or marked as completed but has not been completed.

Responsible for tracking and providing monthly reports identifying variables that impact the quality and quantity of work scheduled to be delivered by staff (attendance, emergency work, bathroom cleaning needing reschedule, etc.).

Provide leadership through short term and long range planning for day-to day cleaning and project cleaning. The planning will incorporate best in industry strategies ( ISSA) to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness of deliverable services. Position is responsible to assist with summer and break planning. This will include implementation and execution of plan, oversight, and providing comprehensive written feedback to assist with improving the Department's effectiveness.
