Fabrication Production Assistant

Summary:

• Reporting Structure: This role works under the supervision of the Fabrication Manager.
• Primary Focus: The primary focus of this role is to work alongside with the production of drapes and AV Drop skins, maintain fabric inventory, ensure quality control, lead and train the seamstresses, assist in cutting, and assist in the fabrication department to ensure production deadlines and quality are met.
• Quality Assurance: Ensuring that Drape Kings' standards are met with minimal quality issues that could impact the company's profitability is a key responsibility.
• Safety and Compliance: Maintaining a safe and secure work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and monitoring environmental issues are also part of the role.

Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control: Ensuring the sewing quality of every operator in the sew line for every operation.
2. Teamwork: Coordinating the activities of production and operating workers, including seamstresses, shipping, sales, installers, AV Drop team and Fabrication team.
3. Fabrication/Warehouse: Assist with day-to-day functions, such cutting, stretching fabric skins, operating pallet jacks, lifting sandbags and other duties as assigned.
4. Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement related to production efficiencies, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
5. Qualities: Being trustworthy, dedicated, agile, and able to multi-task.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in supervising a sewing shop.
• Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish is required.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Skills: Excellent communication and management skills are needed, along with measurement and basic math skills.
• Skills: Experience in Fabrication, sewing, cutting.

Competencies:

• Oral Communication: The ability to speak bilingual Spanish and English clearly and persuasively, both in positive and negative situations
• Time Management Skills: The ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive work environment.
• Leadership Skills: The capacity to lead a team and organize on-time production.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Required to frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
• Frequently required to stand and walk
• Occasionally required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; kneel, crouch and bend

This role is a crucial position in the company, responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of drape and AV Drop production, as well as maintaining a safe and compliant working environment. Bilingual skills and strong leadership abilities are emphasized, along with a background in sewing and cutting Fabrication experience.
